Founder and CSO
Dr. Eric Lam
Eric Lam graduated from UC Berkeley and completed his postdoctoral research in Plant Molecular Biology at Rockefeller University.
He is an acknowledged leader in the duckweed field and has authored over 170 publications in journals including Science and Nature. Eric also has been awarded 4 biotechnology method patents over his career.
He has received the Alexander von Humboldt Award in Molecular Biology (2007) and is a Fulbright Brazil Science Fellow (2014-15).
He has served as the elected Chair of the International Steering Committee for Duckweed Research & Applications for 7 years from 2017-2024.

May Lam
Zhimei (May) Lam holds an MBA from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a BS in Engineering from China.
May has trained in and worked for companies such as GE Medical Systems, Philips Lighting North America, L'Oreal USA, and Vitria Technology as a Senior Financial Analyst and Forecast Manager for over 15 years. She has been responsible for over 100 million dollars of R&D spending budget.
She has broad experience in both finance and operation of large and medium-size companies.
